This Week At Employee Leasing Quotes

Published by admin under employee leasing, peo broker

Fast, productive and busy week, ending with two more newly established brokering relationships with some top tier employee leasing providers and two insurance agencies that we’ve formed marketing agreements with to help more business owners in their service areas.

What’s great about the employee leasing industry is how it continues to evolve, with more services, benefits and unique options available to help business owners. For example, we connected a small chain of supermarkets (grocery stores) in Missouri with a PEO company that was really struggling with payroll and human resource services. They had an excellent workers’ compensation history, so the PEO provider simply carved that portion of the services out, to manage just the problem areas.

A few other industries we’ve been consulting with to provide an employee leasing solution include:

1. A mining company out of Montana. Faced with one of the state’s highest workers’ comp rates, we were able to help them save 27% on their annual workers’ compensation insurance premiums.

2. A structural steel company out of North Carolina. This company recently had an increase in their experience rating of almost 38% based on two expensive work comp claims. Their overall history was excellent up to this time period and the employee leasing provider we helped place them with, virtually erased that increase.

3. A renovated golf resort in Tennessee. The owners have previous experience with employee leasing services and understand the valuable benefits. They’re able to get started with no money down on their workers’ compensation, with a 35% discount off the current Tennessee state rates.

This Week At Employee Leasing Quotes.com

Published by admin under employee leasing

January has come and gone and each week continues to bring interesting conversations, problems to solve and businesses looking for solutions.

This week was filled with a variety of industries searching for an employee leasing solution. Current projects include, an All State insurance agency in Indiana, a marine construction company in South Carolina, an HVAC business in Pennsylvania and a moving company in Minnesota.

What makes employee leasing such a valuable service, are the variety of benefits a business can take advantage of, where many times just one, can create a huge impact. Some business owners need to reduce their workers’ compensation costs, others are searching for ways to decrease their group health care insurance, but the majority I’ve spoken with, are just fed up from dealing with payroll and the paperwork hassles that come with it. Always an adventure and always an education.

This Week At Employee Leasing Quotes

Well, January’s off to a fast start with lots of new opportunities, a new video, logo and makeover of our site - and some challenges in helping business owners find a solution to their problems.

Some of the businesses that we’ve proposed employee leasing services to this week include a group of hotels in Texas, a cleaning company in Minnesota, a new roofing business in Florida, a trucking company in Illinois and a manufacturing facility in Tennessee.

We’re still struggling to find solutions for the smaller tree service business (50-100K in payroll) and even the small company that has had some work comp claims, that’s about to be non-renewed for coverage by their existing work comp carrier - I’m open to emails or phone calls if anyone can help.

I’m also in need of a provider who has an A rated carrier, who will look at high-risk industries, like cell tower erection and governmental construction and roofing projects. Happy New Year and best wishes in 2011!

California Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rates Could Be Reaching New Highs

A 30% increase in California workers’ compensation insurance! That’s somewhere in the ballpark says Dave Bellusci - chief actuary for the state of California workers’ compensation insurance review board.

WCIRB says the current calculation does not include a separate element for the impact of the Almaraz/Guzman and Ogilvie decisions, as it is assumed that the impact of those cases is already in the underlying data. The WCIRB is sticking to its previous story and continues to peg that impact at 5.8%.

California’s high workers’ compensation insurance rates have created a feeding frenzy for the PEO and Employee Leasing industry in the past few years. With discounts of up to 40% or more compared to California’s state fund rates, we’re seeing a huge increase in the California market - and employers are desperately searching for help.

Savings on group health care insurance premiums and reducing increased governmental compliance issues are just a few of the other advantages of a California PEO service.

Losing A Good One

Published by admin under employee leasing

I got an email today from a PEO rep that I’ve had the privilege of knowing and working with over the past few years. She told me she “had just left” the company she’d been working for and was looking at a new sales position in another industry.

I don’t know if she was “let go” or left, but we’ll talk soon. Regardless, I know she wasn’t given much to sell with, in large part because of the economy and fairly - because of what her company has probably had to do to stay in business.

In almost twenty years of B2B sales, this individual is one in a few that you remember. Right now, you can bet there are a number of extremely qualified professionals looking for the right opportunity, to do what they do best – produce and help grow a business. If you have the resources and who doesn’t need highly skilled producers, there’s never been a better time to capitalize.

The Search for a Florida Employee Leasing Company from an Employer’s Perspective

Published by admin under employee leasing

“After hearing about employee leasing from some of my friends, I thought it was time to look into the service for my small business… little did I know I had some serious work to do.

The phone book certainly had a number of employee leasing advertisements and so did the internet. After an hour of looking through the ads and websites they all looked pretty similar, so I figured a few quotes from both wouldn’t hurt. First stop- the phone book.

The first salesperson I spoke with answered a few of my questions, but was pretty intent on setting up a time to meet with me. I figured this was probably going to be part of the process, so I blocked off an hour of my time for a few days later.

The second company I called didn’t go so well- in fact, it didn’t really go at all.

The first voice I heard was an answering system that gave me seven options to choose from. Option 3 “Sales” (not that I wanted to be sold) was the only presumptive choice, so I dialed in. When I was greeted by another digital person (voice mail), I decided to cut my losses. Time to move on!

Since the phone book was open, I dialed again- call number three. After another brief conversation with a salesman, appointment #2 was set on the calendar. Time to get some real work done for a while.

At lunch, I hopped on the internet. The first site I found was like reading the dictionary of employee leasing/ PEO services. It said they gave “quick and easy quotes” but I didn’t see anything quick and easy about it.

The second site was about as quick and easy as it gets. I had a quote form with a few dozen fields that popped up right on the front page. Even though I was a little apprehensive, I filled it out anyway and clicked submit. After giving my information to three different companies– I was done for the day! Or so I thought.

A few hours later I received a call from the online company. The saleswoman told me their company services a minimum of ten employees or $250,000 in annual payroll, which meant my eight and $210,000 was a little short.

Time to move on again! I did have those appointments later in the week, though, so I was still hopeful.

After a week had passed and my two appointments made their sales pitches, I finally got my quotes. While the overall rates were pretty similar, I got out my glasses to read the fine print and noticed a variety of extra fees. Delivery charges, new employee application set up fees and EPLI charges (what’s EPLI?) were all part of the costs- but they varied dramatically. One offered online payroll, the other didn’t- and both had very different employee benefit options.

My enthusiasm had turned to exhaustion. Realizing that I would soon be receiving follow up sales calls (a.k.a. getting sold again), I threw in the towel, turned on my voicemail and returned to work.”

Arborists: Looking for a Secret Weapon for Success? Try an Employee Leasing Company

Those who own a successful tree service business are smart, tough, patient, hard working, multi-tasking individuals who are used to improvising on a moment’s notice.

Those who aren’t all those things probably aren’t very successful at owning and managing a tree service business.

In a highly competitive, dangerous profession that can sometimes feel like an endless Easter egg hunt for quality employees, dealing with payroll and insurance issues is just a frustrating (but necessary) waste of time.

What continues to separate the profitable, successful tree service companies from the rest is the use of employee leasing services.

The reasons why? Let’s start with workers’ compensation insurance. Arborist and tree service companies across the country pay some of the highest workers’ compensation rates of any industry. Employers in Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and Mississippi pay extremely high rates.

An employee leasing company buys workers’ compensation for thousands of employees, which reduces the overall rate compared to purchasing an individual policy. While a rate reduction has little effect on a clerical employee, there can be dramatic differences on the costs for employers in the tree service business.

For example, let’s say you own a small tree service business in Georgia. You have 5 employees with an annual payroll of $130,000. The state rate for climbers and ground employees is $39.28 per hundred dollars in payroll. This would make your annual premium $51,064.

An employee leasing company that specializes in the tree service industry could potentially save your business up to 20% off the state rate. The annual premium would be a dramatic reduction at $40,846 – an annual savings of over $10,000. Some of the other benefits employers receive are no down payments or deposits and no annual expense constant (money that goes to the state).

An employee leasing company will allow you to concentrate on building and expanding your business while controlling your administrative costs. How much your company saves depends on your current situation.

The benefits of an employee leasing company in the tree service industry enable small business owners to outbid and outwork their competition.

When you’re ready to obtain multiple employee leasing quotes for your business, let us do the work for you. With over 1000 PEO/employee leasing companies that service different markets, states and industries, there may be only a handful that truly fit the needs of your small business.

The power of multiple employee leasing companies competing for your tree service business saves you time and money! Our price and service guarantee eliminates the hassle of interviewing endless salespeople.

What Are People Saying about PEO / Employee Leasing Services?

“Employee leasing is a fast growing opportunity, growing by over 20% per year. It’s a way to outsource not only the employee contingent of the business, but generally the organizational aspect of employees. Most employee leasing groups handle all the Human Resources function for the funds expended.”

Alan Guinn: “Don’t Just Survive: Help Your Business Thrive in 2008” – American Chronicle – 1/9/08

“…PEOs are taking a larger share of the market traditionally held by local insurance agents and other business advisors. PEOs enjoyed gross revenues of $61 billion in 2007 and are growing at a rate of 20 percent per year. They are snatching up the traditional workers’ compensation and employee benefits market because they offer a one-stop shop for employers short on time.”

U.S. Insurance News – 5/30/08

“We also recognize that employees of a legitimate employee leasing company have access to better benefits packages, delivered economically.”

Internal Revenue Service.

“How much money are you making when your employees are working on HR or benefits or workers’ comp claims? The answer is zero,” Mapes said. “PEOs get their employees’ time back, so they can work on business-related items. It instantly makes the company more efficient.”

Choosing right PEO lets companies concentrate on business

Kansas City Business Journal - by Tammy Worth Contributing Writer 5/26/06

“Why will so many go to work for PEO companies? Simply, it’s because many small-company owners are tired of being distracted with human resources headaches such as workers’ compensation, family and medical leave laws, and discrimination lawsuits.”

Del Jones, USA Today, “Leasing Workers Eases Load for Small Companies,” 5/20/97.

“Analysts believe that with total payroll dollars of about $18 billion nationwide, employee leasing has tapped barely 2% of its potential market. They expect the industry to increase revenues and earnings by 30% a year for up to the next 10 years.”

David Medina, Crain’s New York Business, “Employee Leasing Firms’ New Lease on Life,” 6/9/97
